Vroom vs Buzz
No doubt Americans love our cars. Gas burners rip across the track at speeds over 200 miles per hour in one of our honored past times, NASCAR. Meanwhile, dually diesels roll coal down back roads to the tune of Dixie. It's a part of who we are as Americans. Things with motors make us giddy. After all, it was our very own Henry Ford who got the world rolling at the speed of independence. No longer was a man bound by the strength of his Tennessee Walker. This metal stallion would open the door to one of America's greatest exports and support the advancement of the world's largest non-renewable resource market. It's no wonder why both the automobile industry and the oil industry both grew in rapid succession to one another. Oil makes the world go round. It's one of the basic principles of economics within the past 80 years. As the price of oil increases, the price of production for nearly every other good or service is also affected. But, has America's muscle-bound past finally come to a screeching halt in light of a charged future?


Recently, our well-known American powerhouse automakers have been releasing environmentally friendly, more efficient vehicles which use fewer fossil fuels and focus more so on the future of solar and electric energy. We see Chevrolet releasing vehicles such as the Volt, Ford producing both "Ecoboost" models of traditional best-sellers and new hybrids such as the Fusion, and now an all new breed: the Tesla.



The Tesla (designed by world-renowned super genius Elon Musk) is the world's most premier electric luxury vehicle. Performance models accelerate at speeds equivalent to the 2.6 million dollar Bugatti Chiron while pricing in at just under SEVEN PERCENT of the cost (approx. $140,000.00). Clearly, if a need for speed is what one desires, it's not necessary to reach seven figures. Additionally, the Tesla's motor, being 100% electric, allows it to transfer torque to the wheels immediately without any lag time due to combustion energy transfer.
Now, you might ask, "what about the range of an electric car? what if I run out of charge? I can't carry a can of electricity and just fill up my tank!" Fortunately, the team of geniuses at Tesla motors took this into consideration. All tesla cars' software systems come equipped with navigation software containing the locations of all Tesla charging stations within the United States. The Tesla can charge from zero percent to full charge in approximately 15 minutes. The best part? All charging stations are free to use. No more paying at the pump.

"That's all fine and dandy, but I can't just go spend $140,000 on a new car!"
I thought you might say that.
Thankfully, Elon Musk thought about this too. While this is a luxury sport vehicle, the model 3, being released this year, 2017, has an entry price of $35,000. Yes, you heard me right.
While the majority of Americans have car payments with high-interest rates, high insurance rates, emissions testing costs, annual vehicle registration costs, gas, oil, and maintenance costs, these things do not worry a Tesla owner.
Due to Tesla's impeccable safety rating (5.4 out of 5 stars), insurance rates are at record lows for this safe vehicle. Additionally, tax breaks are given to those who drive environmentally-friendly vehicles. Emissions testing? Not anymore. Vehicle registration is also cut down by 70%. There is next to no maintenance to be done and of course no gas or oil to worry about. For most individuals, the trade of the elevated price of the vehicle in combination with the loss of all of these additional costs is well worth the move. (Not to mention, Tesla's simply retain their value impeccably unlike today's combustion-engine vehicles which depreciate rapidly.)
In conclusion, Tesla is making a monstrous push into the future with electric luxury vehicles. Their potential is growing by the day and their appeal is obvious. My expectation is to see Tesla become the next Chevrolet within 20 years. The cost to value ratio is simply too desirable to pass up for too much longer. I believe that once these resources are made more available to the mass of America, we will see a surge in the electric market like neveer before.

Hey Mike! I did not know how cool Tesla cars could be especially since you don't have to pay to charge them up. I definitely agree that the world is heading toward electric cars instead of gas.
